Commanderie Templière de Villemoison
The Commanderie de Villemoison is a unique monument in the region, both in terms of its history and its architecture. Its three buildings (chapel, commander's dwelling and barn), which date back to the 12th century, bear witness to the establishment of the Templar Order in the Nièvre region. In the courtyard stands a Romanesque chapel, the heart of which is adorned with a 13th-century fresco. The site is privately owned, but guided tours are available every Wednesday in summer, until the European Heritage Days (bookings must be made with the Bourgogne Coeur de Loire Tourist Office).
