Dernier jour, entrée gratuite et boutique de Noël
The end of the year is approaching*, the Gestes de Loire - Living Cultural Heritage exhibition is drawing to a close, and all the works and artefacts collected for the occasion will soon be returning to storage or to their original museums...
This is the end of an exciting adventure on the Loire, involving enthusiasts, the curious, historians, archaeologists, anthropologists and artists, as well as museum teams, enthusiasts and riverside residents, which led to the official inclusion of the Loire's nautical skills in France's intangible cultural heritage last June.
It's not exactly the end, but rather a stopover, a milestone... since the exhibition will continue its journey downstream in 2026 and the dossier will no doubt be submitted to UNESCO in the years to come!
The whole team is already hard at work on the 2026 programme, but in the meantime you can (re)discover the exhibition one last time, free of charge, on Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 5.30pm.
What's more, a few days before Christmas, the Musée de la Loire will be showcasing its gift shop, offering a host of gift ideas for young and old alike: books on art or the Loire, exhibition catalogues, books on Cosne, Nevers earthenware or painted porcelain, key rings, soft toys, puzzles, etc.
* The museum is due to reopen on Monday 2 March 2026, for a new season full of surprises. Groups and schools are welcome by appointment during the closed season.
