Animusée-vous : les arts, les animaux et les hommes
Birds, butterflies, snakes, fish, game... we live surrounded by animals on a daily basis, even in the city. There are also bats, owls, which are more discreet because they come out at the same time as we go into our homes! So there they are, right in front of our eyes and within earshot; we live together, in other words, we share the same space, sometimes without even noticing - an ecosystem, in short.
On closer inspection, they can also be found swarming around museum collections... If you look closely, they can be found here and there on a wide variety of objects, giving us the opportunity to draw up an inventory à la Prévert: A candlestick, a cello windchest, a cufflink, a baluster vase, a plate, a beard dish, a perfume burner, a pewter dish, an engraving, a painting... Now put your ear to the ground and hear them chirping, whispering, clattering, crackling, screeching, hooting, whistling, growling, bellowing or wailing. Can you recognise them? With all this cacophony, our storerooms and halls, usually calm and hushed, could become veritable menageries!
Let's face it, there could be some surprises in store for young and old alike, and for once the museum is not just for the eyes!
The visual and audio discovery of the animals in the museum collections will then take you outdoors. Accompanied by a nature guide, equipped with binoculars or magnifying glasses, you'll try to spot birds, insects and other animals that inhabit the banks of the Loire.
