Aquarelle et peinture végétale
In partnership with the Coeur de Loire Environmental Education Service.
Nature certainly has unsuspected resources! While it undoubtedly offers artists an inexhaustible source of inspiration through its picturesque qualities (literally "paintable"), it also provides the material and tools for expression. Don't paper and canvas come from wood and linen? Aren't pigments derived from natural elements such as plants and minerals? And what about oils, gums or lacquers? With this in mind, the Musée de la Loire and the Environmental Education Department are offering you the chance to go back to the roots of art and get closer to nature.
The Musée de la Loire will show you how paper and colours are made, and how watercolours are created, while the Environmental Education Department will invite you to use nature itself as a source of materials for your own artistic creations. During a walk along the water's edge, you'll be introduced to the magic of dye plants: broom, St John's wort, chelidoin, as well as willow, maple, alder and lichen, will reveal their secrets and provide you with a wide range of vegetable inks.
It's a colourful experience that will take you from the museum to nature, and from nature to artistic creation!
