Les fenêtres qui parlent
With just over 200 prints in its collections, corresponding to almost 9% of the works in the registers, the Musée de la Loire can pride itself on conserving a great diversity. Firstly in terms of technique (taille d'épargne or taille douce, xylography, linocut or burin, drypoint, manière noire and etching, lithography, etc.), then in terms of period (from the 16th to the 20th century) and in terms of the subjects represented (portraits, landscapes, historical and genre scenes), the multiple image printed on paper from a plate therefore plays a significant role in the inventory.
Created in 2025 in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire, the Fenêtres qui parlent (talking windows) event, which consists of exhibiting contemporary printed art in the city's street-facing windows, will be making a comeback in 2026, so the museum has decided to take an active part, drawing on the wealth of its collection. This Wednesday will be an opportunity for residents, artists and organisers to meet and officially launch the event, which will culminate in the Fête de l'estampe in May.
On the programme from 6pm:
- Presentation of the project by the organisers
- Presentation of printmaking techniques and some works from the museum's reserves
- A meeting between the local people who will be proposing windows and the artists involved this year
The Musée de la Loire, Silex Ink and l'Attribut are inviting anyone who would like to take part in the various workshops and submit a window for the project to join the adventure.
- Credit card, Payment cards, Cheques and postal orders, Cash, Bank transfers, Visa
- Animaux interdits
